Speaker Alban Kingsford Bagbin has recalled parliamentarians back to the House to continue with their statutory duties.

The recall was based on the order 58 of the standing orders of Parliament and further fortified by the 1992 Constitution.

Members of Parliament(MPs) are expected to begin their business on October 15 for the 5th meeting of the 4th Session of the 8th Parliament.

The meeting will however not be held in the chamber of the House.

The preparation and repair work for the Ninth Parliament is yet to be completed thereby pushing the business outside the Parliament House.

In a recall order by the speaker, He has therefore directed that meeting and business will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Currently the chamber is under retrofit at a cost of € 2.26 million before the next Parliament.

The Projects which has a deadline of November ending is unclear whether or not the rest of the sitting will end at the conference Centre or speed -up work will bring the house back to the chamber.

In his last tour to familiarize himself with progress of work, Speaker Bagbin indicated that the work was long overdue and could not wait until the next Parliament was reconstituted.
