29866711-295Ranking Member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth and Sports, Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang has criticised the spending pattern on the various sporting disciplines following the consistent reduction in the nation’s budget for sports.

His criticism followed the financial difficulties the Black Maidens face before, during and after their participation in the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s Championship in Jordan.

The Black Maidens, despite grappling with funding challenges, made it to the quarter-final stage of the competition.

Speaking in an interview with Class Sports on Monday October 18, Mr Baah-Agyemang, who is also the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North said: “I think we need to prioritise and the dependence on the Black stars is just too much. I think as a marketer, when going for sponsorship for the Black Stars and monies from companies, they should tie it with one of the other teams and maybe the women’s team.”

“We cannot have equality but maybe the impartiality can be straightened up a bit,” he said.
