Ghana international Salis Abdul Samed is set to leave RC Lens before the transfer window closes on Friday, following his fall down the pecking order in the club's midfield.

French Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois is reportedly close to securing a season-long loan deal for the 25-year-old midfielder, according to Footmercato.

Salis Abdul Samed, who has found himself surplus to requirements under RC Lens manager Will Still, has been training with the club's reserve team since last week.

With his career at RC Lens stalling, the club is eager to offload the midfielder before the transfer window shuts.

Stade Brestois, keen to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season, has initiated talks with RC Lens to acquire Abdul Samed on loan for the 2024–25 campaign.

The deal is expected to be finalized soon, giving Abdul Samed a fresh start in Ligue 1.

The midfielder, who has been capped 19 times by Ghana at the senior national team level, has also attracted interest from other Ligue 1 clubs, including FC Nantes and AS Saint-Étienne.

However, Stade Brestois appears to be the frontrunner to secure his services.

Abdul Samed's current contract with RC Lens runs until June 2028, but his immediate focus will be on reviving his career with a move to Stade Brestois, where he hopes to regain his form and make a significant impact.
