Stonebwoy sparks debate with “deeper” lyric aimed at Shatta Wale

Dancehall star Stonebwoy has set social media buzzing with his latest release, Deeper, which many fans believe takes a jab at long-time rival Shatta Wale.
The track, released over the weekend, features the line: “My property no go lock for EOCO”—widely interpreted as a dig at Shatta Wale, who recently faced scrutiny from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The timing of the song has heightened speculation, coming just weeks after Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini Urus was temporarily seized as part of investigations into a $4.7 million fraud case.
The vehicle was later returned after legal proceedings in the US, but the incident, along with his ongoing fallout with producer MOG Beatz, has kept the artist in the headlines.
Shatta Wale was detained by EOCO on August 20 and released on bail the following evening. His lawyer, Cephas Boyuo, confirmed that the initial GH₵10 million bail was reduced to GH₵5 million, with two sureties.
He is also required to report to EOCO three times a week.
Stonebwoy’s pointed lyric has since overshadowed much of the broader themes on Deeper—which explores resilience, integrity, and triumph—and instead reignited the rivalry between the two camps.
On social media, reactions have been sharply divided. Shatta Movement loyalists dismissed the line as unnecessary provocation.
One fan tweeted: “EOCO don return the car, so what Stonebwoy dey yarn about?” Others argued the Bhim Nation frontman is “afraid of competition.”
Conversely, Stonebwoy’s supporters celebrated the jab as a daring statement. “Stonebwoy just cooked Shatta Wale with facts,” wrote one Bhim Nation fan.
For now, neither artist has publicly addressed the lyric—but online, the battle lines are once again drawn.
