Ahead of his headlining concert on December 22, Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has exciting news to surge his performance level to a new high.

The number of people who streamed songs by the ‘Mama’ act in 2017 can fill the iconic Wembley Stadium for four consecutive nights.

Wembley Stadium is a football stadium in Wembley, London, England. With 90,000 seats, it is the largest football stadium in England, the largest stadium in the UK and the second-largest stadium in Europe.

The stadium hosts major football matches including home matches of the England national football team, and the FA Cup Final.

In addition to England home games and the FA Cup final, the stadium also hosts other major games in English football, including the season-opening FA Community Shield, the League Cup final, the FA Cup semi-finals, the Football League Trophy, the Football League play-offs, the FA Trophy, the FA Vase and the National League play-offs.

A UEFA category four stadium, Wembley hosted the 2011 and 2013 UEFA Champions League Finals, and will host both the semi-finals and final of UEFA Euro 2020. The stadium hosted the Gold medal matches at the 2012 Olympic Games football tournament. The stadium also hosts rugby league’s Challenge Cup final, NFL London Games and music concerts.

Three Hundred and twelve thousand, eight hundred and eleven (312, 811) fans from sixty (60) countries streamed songs by the Dancehall artiste on Spotify for a total of 122, 000 hours or seven million, three hundred and twenty-four thousand, seven hundred and thirty-nine minutes (7, 324, 739).

The statistics were revealed by the music, podcast and video streaming service in its year in review data.

Grammy winning artiste, Ed Sheeran had the most streamed songs on the service, followed by The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar and The Chainsmokers.

Rihanna topped the list as the Most Streamed Female artiste, followed by Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Sia.

Stonebwoy released his new album ‘Epistles Of Mama’  in mid-December 2017.

Sean Paul, Burna Boy, Sarkodie, Efya, King Promise, Edem and Joey B are some of the artistes featured on the album. The double disk project is made up of 24 songs – 12 Dancehall/Reggae songs and 12 Afrobeat songs.

“It’s inspired by the good morals, the teachings, the lessons, the anguish and the smiles of life. All the important things in life which are passed on to us by our mothers.” explains Stonebwoy to Red Bull.

The album is dedicated to the memory of his mother, Catherine Satekla, who died in 2015.
