Sudan national team captain Ramadan Agab has expressed a heartfelt ambition to play for Ghanaian football giants Asante Kotoko before retiring from professional football.

Currently a key figure at Sudanese club Al-Merrikh SC, Agab is drawn to Kotoko's storied history and significant reputation in African football, seeing the club as a dream destination.

Eric Amponsah, the Sudan national team's goalkeeper coach, revealed Agab's admiration for Kotoko during an interview on Kessben FM.

According to Amponsah, Agab's interest in joining the Porcupine Warriors extends beyond financial considerations, emphasizing the value of legacy and reputation.

“He says he has to play for Kotoko because Kotoko is huge. It’s not always about the money but the name. A good name is better than money,” Amponsah quoted Agab as saying, underlining the Sudanese forward’s respect for the club's legacy.

At 35, Agab remains an influential player, having recently led Sudan to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

Additionally, he has contributed three goals in six matches in Sudan's World Cup qualifying campaign, demonstrating his enduring quality and leadership on the field.
