Sunderland, an English Championship club, have entered the race to sign Ghanaian defender Nathaniel Adjei in anticipation of the upcoming winter transfer window.

The 21-year-old center-back has garnered significant attention from various European clubs due to his impressive performances with Hammarby in the Swedish league.

Nathaniel Adjei, the Ghanaian center-back, has attracted the interest of Scottish clubs Celtic and Rangers, as well as teams in Belgium and Italy, as the winter transfer window approaches.

Adjei, who is currently with Hammarby in the Swedish Allsvenskan, has been enjoying a standout season, sparking the interest of clubs from different parts of Europe.

Celtic and Rangers, in particular, are in search of defensive reinforcements, and Adjei is a prominent target for them. Both clubs have closely followed the player and have been impressed with his performances in the Swedish league.

The Allsvenskan season is scheduled to conclude in November, and Adjei's strong showing positions him well for a potential move to another club.

Nathaniel Adjei, formerly a member of the Ghana U20 national team, joined Hammarby in the summer of 2022 after transferring from Danbort FC, a lower-tier side.

He has since made 19 league appearances and scored a goal for Hammarby.
