The Sehwi Bodi Circuit Court in the Western North Region has remanded a self-proclaimed Mallam and suspected armed robber, Victor Biney, popularly known as Abeiku, in connection with a violent assault on miners at Sehwi Antobia in the Juaboso District.
The court, presided over by His Highness Frank Asiedu Nimako, denied a bail application filed on behalf of the accused and ordered that he be held in custody.
The remand order was issued on December 18, 2025, and Biney is expected to appear before the court again on January 15, 2026.
Victor Biney is widely known within communities in the Juaboso area for his alleged involvement in armed robbery, as well as his activities as a Mallam who reportedly claims to confer “black powers” on young men and women to protect them from gunshots and machete attacks.
Following his arrest, police investigations have linked him to several robbery cases in the area.
One of the most serious incidents attributed to him is a daytime robbery in Juaboso, during which a person was shot and killed, and a significant amount of money was stolen from a wholesale shop.
In addition to the current case, Biney is standing trial in a separate criminal matter at the Bibiani Circuit Court, where judgment is expected to be delivered on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Authorities say investigations into his activities are ongoing as efforts continue to clamp down on violent crime in the region.
