Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has called on government to fix the footbridge on the Adenta-Madina highway to resolve the carnage on the road.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwesi Pratt told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that the rate of accidents on the road is appalling and therefore demanded an urgent solution by current administration.

According to him, the government should take Ghanaians seriously and stop toying with the lives of people.

He wondered why the Roads and Highways Ministry cannot complete the footbridge which is only left with the stairs to help commuters cross the highway safely.

Kwesi Pratt also warned political figures and leaders in the country to stop playing politics with the issue, saying "what is the sense in what we’re doing? Should people continue to die because the previous government didn’t do it or should people continue to die because the current government has done something wrong? There is an emergency situation now at Adentan . . . Take the people of this country seriously for once and stop what you’re doing because it doesn’t help anybody”.

Residents and commuters at Adenta on Thursday, November 8, 2018 mounted a barrier with burned tyres on the highway, blocking vehicular movement in protest against the government.

They have called on the government to construct footbridges and also put measures in place to stop the indiscriminate accidents on the road.

The protesters burned tyres on the road after a car knocked down a middle-aged woman and a student on the road yesterday.
