Ghanaian youngster Lord Listowell has completed a move to English Championship side Middlesbrough, with his former club Samba Stars Academy confirming the transfer of the 18-year-old following a successful trial spell.
Listowell caught the eye of the Championship outfit after impressing during assessments, earning himself the opportunity to continue his development in England’s highly competitive second tier.
The midfielder was part of the Samba Stars contingent at the Confederations Cup tournament in October 2024, where he featured alongside Jalil Alhassan Moore, who has also joined French side Strasbourg. His performances at the tournament are understood to have played a key role in attracting overseas interest.
Listowell also gained valuable experience closer to home last season, spending a brief loan spell at Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, where he was exposed to the demands of top-flight football.
His move adds to the growing list of Ghanaian players making their mark in the English Championship, a league increasingly seen as a pathway for young African talents seeking development and exposure.
For Listowell, the transfer represents a major step in his young career and another reminder of Ghana’s continued contribution to English football’s next generation.
