The Bank Hospital has strongly refuted allegations of breaching medical confidentiality concerning the late Ghanaian highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away at the facility on July 26.
The hospital's response follows accusations from social media personality Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, better known as Afia Schwarzenegger, who made the claims during a live session.
In her broadcast, Afia Schwarzenegger accused the hospital of leaking confidential details about the late musician's medical condition and hinted at potential legal action.
She further alleged that staff members, including doctors and nurses, had violated doctor-patient confidentiality by disclosing sensitive information related to Daddy Lumba’s death.
In a statement, The Bank Hospital categorically denied these claims, calling them "false and baseless.
"As one of Africa's leading private healthcare institutions, The Bank Hospital remains committed to the highest ethical standards. A formal review of all events before, during, and after his care is underway to ensure continual improvement."
The hospital also called on the public to rely on credible and verified sources when sharing information.
