Black Queens coach, Nora Hauptle has attributed her team's vast improvement in performance to hard work ahead of their match against Rwanda in the return leg of the 2024 WAFCON qualifiers.

In the first leg of the qualifiers, the Black Queens dominated the match, securing a resounding 7-0 victory over Rwanda at the Kigali Pele Stadium.

Players like Evelyn Badu, Anastasia Achiaa, Alice Kusi, Priscilla Adubea, and Doris Boaduwaa all contributed goals to the impressive victory.

Under Coach Nora Hauptle's leadership, the Black Queens have been in excellent form, winning all six of their recent matches, scoring 21 goals and keeping clean sheets in each game.

Speaking before the upcoming match, Coach Hauptle emphasized the hard work put in by both the coaching staff and players.

"I can say the secret behind the gradual improvement of the team is putting in lot of work but I need to congratulate the players for taking the right decisions on the pitch’’ she said.

“I have a great staff with professional analysis of the game with individual talks as well. We are proud that we scored so many goals and even more proud to have clean sheets. Our game plan worked and the players transmitted it very well."

“We have a plan which we slightly adapt and off course we also position players well to function well in our games.”

“All 23 players are fit and ready to perform tomorrow. Players will know who will start tomorrow in our pre-match meeting. A bit of impressions from the last training will also count."

She praised the players for their decision-making on the field and credited her staff for their professional game analysis and individual talks.

Coach Hauptle also mentioned that all 23 players in the squad are fit and ready for the match, and the starting lineup would be decided based on the last training session and discussions in their pre-match meeting.

The Black Queens are aiming to continue their impressive form and secure another convincing victory in the return leg against Rwanda, which will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium this afternoon at 16:00 GMT (4:00 pm).
