The Deputy Minister of Energy, William Owuraku Aidoo has assured all power users in the country that the nation will not be plunged into darkness since the Karpower barge is been moved from Tema to Takoradi.

The 470 megawatts Karpower ship barge has been off the national grid since Tuesday 13th August ,2019 to be relocated in Sekondi Takoradi from its current Tema base so as to utilize the less expensive natural gas resources from the Sekondi- Takoradi enclave.

We will have to make do with our power generation without the 470 megawatts Karpower ship for at least the next 17 days but the Deputy Energy Minister insist Ghana will be fine in the power barge’s absence.

“There is not going to be any problems at all as far as generation of power and the supply of power to the good people of this nation, to industries, to the ordinary people of this country. There is not going to be any problem at all

We have taken the necessary measures to ameliorate the reduction of the taking away of Karpower ship to Takoradi. We are going to be fine
