Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), has confirmed that ticket sales for Ghana’s final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros will close at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, four hours before kickoff.
The decision follows crowd control challenges during Ghana’s September fixture against Mali, where late ticket seekers caused congestion around the stadium.
“Worth noting that on match day, tickets will not be sold after 3 pm,” Ampofo Ankrah told the media.
“The match is at 7 pm, and the reason for this is that we don’t want the challenges we had the last time… It must be very clear.”
The NSA hopes the policy will:
- Enhance crowd control
- Improve security protocols
- Ensure a smoother fan experience
- Avoid last-minute congestion
The Balck Stars of Ghana will be locking horns with The Coelecanths of Comoros on Sunday, October 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium with Kick off time at 19:00 GMT.
With national pride and history on the line, fans are urged to arrive early, secure their tickets in advance, and be part of what could be a defining night in Ghanaian football.
