Crying might be considered bad but it is also the go-to emotion when we experience something bad. But, what if we told you crying can help you? This club actually believes in the philosophy and lets you purge your emotions and cry. Willing to take part in this interesting deal?
We are sure you must have heard of laughter clubs and smile therapy but this crying club in Surat is unique in many ways. The club sees people from all walks of life come in and talk it out, letting out their emotions and then cry, ultimately which de-stresses them. According to the founding members, which also includes a psychiatrist, there is a great deal of benefit behind this exercise and in fact, they encourage people to cry it out on a regular basis. According to one of the experts on board, "They (People) should never stop themselves from doing so as tears contain a chemical known as cortisol, which is harmful to the human body and so it should be released no sooner than later, otherwise one would always remain in a state of stress, tension and depression.”
While the idea seemed strange to many before, the club has been seeing a lot more attendance than before. The results have been anything but good. crying club
"We were not sure whether people will take this seriously, but more people have joined the club than we expected. We were doubtful whether people would like to recall memories that make them feel sad, but their participation was encouraging. Many of them shared incidents from their lives and let themselves cry." Yes, crying is healthy for you! We are sure that this statement may have made you roll your eyes for once but crying is a good thing to do. No, it does not make you look weak, fragile or bad. Crying, just like happiness is a natural response you experience when you go through some kind of stress and there is a rush of endorphins or the body's "happy hormones" released in your body, making you feel good. Hence, there is no reason why you should hold them back.
Crying also improves people's mood as well. According to studies conducted worldwide, of more than 3000 people observed, it was seen that most patients felt relieved after undergoing a crying episode.
It is also a healthy exercise which promises de-stressing and therapeutic benefits. This is the reason why your head feels lighter and much relaxed after an intense purge session. When you do cry, your heart rate and breathing slow down just a little enough to tackle the hyper emotions. You are hence, more at ease to solve problems and experience clarity.
Experts suggest that crying it out is also a good option for people who face difficulty opening up about their emotions.

How to cry healthily, the right way:

According to many therapists, for a good, helpful cry, it is important to have certain priorities met:

-Have socially supportive people around you whom you can trust and shoulder on.

-If you are sensitive and fear getting judged by random people, crying in the public is not a good option for you.

-Crying is not going to help if you suffer from a mood disorder and in such a case, any incident of tears rolling down is not to be taken lightly. Consult a doctor or a therapist for more help.

When to be careful?

Crying is not bad and can be helpful in some situations but keep in mind, it doesn't actually solve the root cause. You should learn how to deal with the emotions and learn why it is causing you guilt, stress or grief in the first place. If episodes of crying interfere with your life and work, think about getting professional consult which would help you work on your issues plaguing you.
