Ghanaian star Thomas Partey is optimistic that Arsenal's upcoming fixtures against Inter Milan and Chelsea present a crucial chance for the team to recover from recent setbacks.
The Gunners faced a tough defeat at St. James’ Park, falling 1-0 to Newcastle, which marked their second loss in three Premier League matches.
Alexander Isak's goal just 12 minutes into the game proved decisive, leaving Arsenal unable to equalize and solidifying their drop to fifth place in the league with 18 points.
As Arsenal navigates a challenging schedule, they will first travel to face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday before taking on rivals Chelsea in a vital Premier League clash on Sunday.
Partey highlighted the need for the team to step up against such strong opponents, acknowledging the difficulties of playing at Newcastle.
“It’s a difficult place to play. They have a lot of quality players. We did our best to try to turn things around; unfortunately, we could not,” he reflected on the recent match.
However, he remains hopeful, stating, “I think it’s the best moment to turn things around, to show that we are not just any team—we are Arsenal—and we can do everything possible that is expected of us.” With this mindset, Partey aims to inspire his teammates as they seek to regain momentum in their campaign.
