Ghana's captain, Thomas Partey, has lauded the atmosphere at the Baba Yara Stadium as “amazing” ahead of the Black Stars' 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying opener against Angola.

The match is set to kick off later today at 16:00 GMT.

Partey praised the supporters for their consistent and passionate backing, reflecting on the team's positive experiences playing in Kumasi.

"The supporters have been really amazing," Partey told SuperSport. "We have played most of our games here, and I believe we have won all of them, and they have been fantastic."

The Arsenal midfielder expressed his appreciation for the fans and emphasized the impact of their support on the team's performance.

"I really love playing here, but I hope they will continue with their support. If we one day play in Accra, we will get the same fans," he added.

As Ghana looks to kick off their Group F campaign with a strong performance, Partey's comments underscore the importance of fan support in their quest for success in the qualifiers.
