Thomas  Partey has handed Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta a huge boost ahead of the crunch North London derby against current Premier League leaders Tottenham Hotspurs.

The midfielder sustained a thigh injury last month in his side's three nil defeat against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

He was forced to miss Ghana's crucial AFCON 2021 double header qualifier against Sudan and has since not played for his club side.

Speaking after his side's 4-1 win against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League on Thursday night the Arsenal manager revealed Partey will be training with the team later today.

“He’s putting a lot of pressure to us,” the Gunners boss revealed after the Europa League victory at the Emirates. “He’s training tomorrow with us and let’s see how it goes in the next couple of days.”

Arsenal go into the North London Derby on a wretched run of form in the Premier League, winning just once in their last six matches, losing four.

They face a Tottenham side who sit top of the table, 8 points clear of their misfiring neighbours.

In contrast to their league form, Arsenal are flying in Europe with five wins from five following the latest trashing of a poor Vienna side.
