Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will officially leave Arsenal on June 30, bringing his five-year tenure at the club to a close following the expiration of his contract.
Despite efforts from both Partey and the Gunners to reach an agreement, talks over a new deal fell through, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The 32-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for a reported £45 million, will now be available on a free transfer.
Partey exits after arguably his finest season in England, making 35 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
He was also instrumental in Arsenal’s impressive run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, playing in 12 matches during the European campaign.
His departure marks a significant change in Arsenal’s midfield setup, with the club reportedly pursuing Brentford's Christian Nørgaard as a potential replacement.
The Black Stars vice-captain has attracted strong interest across Europe, with Barcelona and Juventus — long-time admirers — keeping tabs on his situation.
Additionally, Turkish giants Fenerbahçe are said to have taken initial steps to secure his services ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Currently holidaying in Ghana, Partey is expected to return to Europe soon to finalise his next move as he prepares for a fresh chapter in his career.
