Three people have been injured and hospitalised after bees invaded and attacked residents of Akete in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.
Two of the injured are said to be in critical condition while one person is in stable condition at the Methodist Hospital.
The victims have been identified as Afia Atta Amadu aged 35, and Kwakye aged 20, who can barely talk while the last person has been treated and discharged.
Adom News’ Kwasi Poku with affiliate station, Royals FM reported the incident occurred on Monday afternoon.
Afia in an interview revealed there is a cub on a mango tree on the outskirts of the town where the bees have been for the past three years.
It is however not immediately clear what caused them to spread.
She narrated that the bees invaded her room and chased her while she run for her life, holding scores hostage as nobody could enter or exit their homes.
Some residents who find it strange have attributed it to a spiritual attack.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has announced plans to fumigate the town to ensure the safety of residents.
