A timber-laden aboboyaa crashed at Okyerekrom, killing a 23-year-old pillion passenger.

The deceased has been identified as Kingsley Kwaku Atta, who was riding on the motorised tricycle when it overturned while transporting about 20 timber logs.

The vehicle was reportedly travelling from Bayerebon Number 5 to Antwi Adjei Nkwanta when the accident occurred.

According to Alexander Akwasi Yeboah, a group of young men had loaded the tricycle with timber and were heading toward Antwi Adjei Nkwanta when the rider lost control after reaching a rough stretch of road, causing the crash.

Mr. Yeboah said the rider and another injured person were rushed to Nyinahin Government Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

He expressed concern about the growing number of similar accidents involving aboboyaa in the area, warning that the misuse of the tricycles poses a serious risk to lives.

The Assemblyman urged young people to use aboboyaa strictly for transporting goods and avoid overloading or engaging in unsafe practices that could lead to further tragedies.
