Senegal international Pape Matar Sarr has expressed confidence in Tottenham Hotspur’s readiness ahead of the 2025/26 English Premier League season following their impressive 1-0 victory over Arsenal in a preseason friendly.

The 22-year-old midfielder stole the show at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on Thursday, July 31, with a stunning long-range strike from midfield, sealing the win for Spurs in the high-profile clash.

“We are working very hard to be ready for the league and I am very happy to be with the gaffer,” Sarr told the media after the game.

“It’s important for everyone, and like I said, we will keep going and we will be ready for the league.”

Sarr also looked ahead to Spurs' next major challenge — the UEFA Super Cup final against European champions Paris Saint-Germain, set to be played at the Friuli Stadium in Udine, Italy, on Wednesday, August 13.

“We are looking forward to that [Super Cup] because we are prepared — just like we showed against Arsenal — and we will be ready for the finals against PSG,” he added.

Tottenham’s preseason preparations continue with friendlies against Newcastle United at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on August 3, and Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on August 7.

The Europa League champions will officially begin their 2025-2026 Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Burnley on August 16, just after their Super Cup showdown.
