The Suhum Traditional Council in collaboration with the Local Council of Churches and the Municipal Assembly has embarked on a massive clean-up exercise in the Municipality.

The exercise organized by the Akyempimhene, Nana Amoako Darko was aimed at cleaning the environment and inculcating the habit of cleanliness in the people.

The clean-up exercise attracted a large number of people who participated in distilling choked gutters, weeding, and sweeping the principal streets of Suhum.

Nana Amoako Darko explained that the exercise is to ensure sanitation in the principal streets of Suhum to become healthy.

He noted that the exercise will take place every six weeks to ensure that the town is always clean.

He further notes the chiefs will collaborate with the Municipal Assembly Sanitation Unit to enforce and also make sure that any individual who failed to keep his or her footage clean will be arrested and charged before the court.

Nana Darko then urged Ghanaians to have committed to making sure that their environment is always clean and advised the people not to dump refuse indiscriminately and later to clean them and urged all and sundry to be regular participants in all clean-up exercises.

The leadership of the church promised to embark on a clean-up exercise in the municipality once every six weeks to help improve the sanitation situation in the area.
