Constituency executives’ elections in the Mampong Constituency in the Ashanti region failed to come off Saturday because of beliefs of the True Faith Worship well known as Gydi K)k)).

The constituency has a considerable number of its residents in this faith which bas any member from travelling or engaging in any extra-religious activities on Saturdays.

Speaking to Ultimate News’ Ivan Heathcote Fumador, the deputy Ashanti regional secretary of the NDC Kwame Zu pointed out that the party had received a petition from their members in the faith demanding that the elections be postponed to next week Thursday.

“These members of our party belong to a church called Gyidi church and on Saturday they don’t travel and having been served notice from them, as a party, we decided to reschedule the elections to next week Thursday.”

Meanwhile the party has also been served notices of court injunction on the elections in seven constituencies including Bekwai, Kwadaso, Asokwah, Subin, Afigya Kwabere and Atwima Nwabeagya South.
