When we talk about alcohol, all that comes to our mind is the feeling of getting high followed by a bad hangover. The hangover might make you promise yourself not to drink again, but, today we will tell you something that would not make you feel guilty of drinking anymore.

Scientists, rather our guardian angels, have found out a positive link between tequila and weight loss. Yes, you read that right. Before you start screaming on the top of your voice, read ahead. There is a scientific reason behind it. The studyThe American Chemical Society conducted a research on the effect of tequila on the blood sugar levels. They discovered that sugar found in the agave plant (which is what tequila is made from) is non-digestible and thus cannot raise your blood sugar level. tequila

ResearchTo take this research ahead, researchers carried out a test on mice. The mice were divided into two groups. The first group was given a standard diet followed by water that contained agavins, while the second group was given a standard diet only with water.

ResultsThe results were that mice who had agavins after food had lesser appetite than those who didn’t have agavins. These mice also had low blood sugar levels and were found to have hormone GLP-1, which makes you feel fuller for longer. This gives tequila a win win.

TipHaving tequila might curb hunger but excess of it can lead to numerous problems. Know your limit and do not go overboard.
