Two people are feared missing after a canoe carrying six passengers capsized on the Offin River near New Achiase on Thursday morning, local authorities have confirmed.

The incident reportedly occurred around 8:00 a.m. while the passengers were en route to their farms. According to Daniel Adu, a former unit committee chairman who spoke to Citi News, the paddler is believed to have lost control of the canoe during the crossing.

“All six fell into the river. We managed to rescue four, but we are still searching for the other two, who are adult males,” he explained.
