Two people have died while another is receiving medical treatment following a motorcycle crash at Assin Fosu.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 7, 2026, near Finest Pub along the Cape Coast–Kumasi Highway after two motorcycles reportedly collided.

Preliminary investigations by the Ghana Police Service indicate that a 25-year-old rider, Solomon Nyame, was riding an unregistered Royal motorbike with a 23-year-old passenger, Patience Pamful.

Police say the pair were travelling from Assin Juaso towards Assin Fosu at high speed when the crash occurred.

According to investigators, the rider allegedly noticed another motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction while attempting to turn into a junction leading to the pub.

In trying to manoeuvre, he reportedly veered into the oncoming lane and collided with another unregistered Royal motorbike being ridden by 19-year-old Daniel Agyeko.

The impact threw all three individuals onto the roadside pavement, leaving them with severe injuries. They were quickly transported to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital for medical attention.

However, police said Daniel Agyeko and Patience Pamful were pronounced dead on arrival, while Solomon Nyame was admitted and is currently responding to treatment.

The Central North Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department, Wonder Lumor, confirmed the incident.

He added that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue pending preservation and autopsy as investigations into the crash continue.
