News of young university students committing suicide seems not to be alien again because in the last couple of years, we have reported several cases from universities across the country.

The latest sad news is from Wa, the Upper West regional capital, where a final year student of the University Development Studies (UDS) committed suicide.

The sad incident according to information available to Ghanaguardian.com happened Saturday January 26. 2019.

Enoch Akondor believed to be in his late 20s who is pursuing a BSC in Development Planning took his own life after it turned out that he had failed most of his courses and as a result may not be able to graduate with his colleagues.

Out of shame, he was said to have committed suicide at his hostel room on Saturday night by drinking a poisonous liquid substance only for his body to be discovered by colleagues on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, Ghanaguardian.com has sighted a document believed to be his last chat on a group page on social media before committing suicide.

Days before his death, Enoch Akondor appeared to encouraging a colleague to be strong and take solace in God.
