The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation(UNIDO)with support from the Swiss Government and Government of Ghana has marked ten years of joint cooperation towards improving trade facilitation and quality in Accra.

The event  also  celebrated the remarkable achievements of the two countries and also highlighted the wide results of the TCB Ghana programme in the development of a comprehensive quality infrastructure system in the country.

Swiss ambassador to Ghana, His excellency Markus Dutly, said " Quality is an area of great commitment for SECO.Government of  Switzerland's support through UNIDO TCB programme for the past ten years has made Ghanaian SME's and the private sector more competitive in the International markets. We believe that the more competitive broad based private sector, the more prosperous of an economy Ghana will become" he noted.

UNIDO representative to Ghana and Liberia, Mr. Fakhruddin Azizi on his part indicated that UNIDO will continue to support enterprises in their efforts to offer competitive, safe, reliable and cost- effective products in works and markets. He noted " For us at UNIDO, enabling enterprises to manufacture products with high -export potential in the quantities and at the level of quality required by the markets is an evidence of our commitment to improving market conformity to relevant international standards. buyer requirements and technical requirements. He maintained.

The project manager to the TCB- programme said that UNIDO and SECO will address quality and standards compliance challenges in SECO priority countries, and Ghana as a beneficiary will witness the launch of the Global quality standards with support from the Ministry of trade and Industry

The event which was marked in Ghana brought together donor partners, UN agencies, quality and certification agencies, manufacturers and other stakeholders.
