One of the Leading female Journalist with TV3, Bridget Otoo, his hinted that poor pay and curtailment of their freedom to express themselves have led to the dismissal of over 30 journalist from the Kanda  based Media house.

The host of New Day on TV3 who took to her Twitter handle to rant about the state of Journalists in the country lamented on how most journalist are unable to express their opinion without the fear of being sanctioned by their media houses.

A statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of TV3, Jimi Matthews,  dated February 28, 2017 explained the affected staff who are from various departments including editorial, marketing and library “attempted to embark on industrial action” without following the provisions of the Labour Act.

It also stated that, “The actions include, but was not limited to, writing inflammatory statements on the corridor walls and passage floors threatening dire action, hoisting of a red flag on the transmission mast inside the premises and subsequently wearing red attire and armbands signifying support for the intend disruption of the work process”

It is however unclear if Ms Otto has been affected by the action of the TV station.

The station is not new to such actions as it is known for the infamous dismissal of one of their longest serving Journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah, over off air related matters.
