Some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Keta Municipality in the Volta region have voiced out their dislikes over the appointment of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Godwin Edudzi Effa.

The NPP members are requesting the immediate removal of Mr Effa from the office as MCE by President Akufo Addo, with the reason that he is not an indegene of Keta and therefore does not deserve to rule over them.

They further added that the people who used to marginalize the residents of Keta when  both Keta and Anloga shared the Keta Municipal Assembly managed to influence the nomination of the MCE to satisfy their parochial interests.

Mr Effa according to them is a native of Anloga and not a grassroot member of the party and therefore will not promote the goodwill of the NPP on the municipality.

Speaking on the behalf of the members, Kissinger Gbemu the convenor of the executive said, “we the sons daughters of Keta who belong to the New Patriotic Party want to tell Nana Addo whom we know is a listening president to remove Mr. Effah because we don’t know him and so cannot work with him. Nana Addo should remove him otherwise, we will advise ourselves”.

Mr Gbemu further added that the group has sent their petition to the President through the Volta Regional Minister and will go to every length to remove Mr Effa from office as MCE.
