Ghana football has been plunged into sadness as veteran football administrator Jones Abu Alhassan aka PROF/Accra big Man has passed away in Ivory Coast.

He was part of the Ghana Football Association's delegation that accompanied Hasaacas Ladies to the WAFU Zone B CAF Women's Champions League qualifier which ended in Ivory Coast on Friday with the Ghanaian champions winning.

The ace football administrator fell ill on Friday and was admitted to hospital in neighbouring Ivory Coast and was on admission.

They wanted to transfer him to Accra on Tuesday but he gave up the ghost on Tuesday morning.

Jones Abu Alhassan has played key roles in Real Tamale United (RTU) and was manager of the legendary Abedi Ayew Pele.

He was 64 years and is credited for being the kingpin who helped Kurt Okraku come to power two years ago.

His family are currently meeting to decide the next line of action as he is a Muslim and they do not waste time on burying the dead.

Kurt Okraku paid tribute to his departed friend, colleague and mentor with a post on his social media handle;

"PROF......Thanks for everything..Thanks for the hours we spent together thinking about Ghana Football.....Am shattered ...

RIP...SIr!!," Okraku wrote on Tuesday morning.
