The victorious Black Satellites team will get a whooping $100,000 for clinching the WAFU Zone B Championship in Benin.

This was disclosed by a representative of the Sports Minister in a meeting with the squad after their triumph on Saturday.

Ghana defeated the Young Stallions of Burkina Faso on Saturday by 2-1 to win the WAFU Zone B U20 Championship for the first time.

Goals from Daniel Afriyie Barnie and Percious Boah either side of Burkina's Kouame Jean Fiacre Botue gave Ghana a 2-1 win in the fiercely contested game.

The team touched down late on Saturday evening before going to lodge at the M Plaza Hotel in Accra where they were camping.

Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports has congratulated the team through an official statement but on Monday the Ministry sent representatives to meet the entire squad.

It was at this said meeting that the Accountant of the Sports Ministry, Emmanuel Oteng and Spokesperson Kofi Asare Brako congratulated the boys

They also revealed that the Sports Minister, Hon Isaac Asiamah has promised them exactly the same package that was offered the Black Stars B when they won the WAFU Zone B tournament in 2017.

“Ghana is proud of you and so is the Sports Minister. Congratulations for this wonderful feat and be assured that everything due you will be given to you,” Oteng told the players and the technical team."

“The Minister has asked we inform you that the package that was given to the team for winning the 2017 WAFU Tournament is the same that will be given to you."

The Black Stars B were handed the entire $100,000 which was the prize money for the tournament when they won it in 2017.
