Arsenal's French Forward Olivier Giroud has had to cope with an unfamiliar role of coming from the bench  as an impact sub for most of this season. The striker is a casualty from Arsene Wenger's tactical switch this season preferring Alexis Sanchez in the center forward role.

Giroud  to his credit has been more than decent in his role with the team this season proving to be the answer on many occasions from the bench in complicated games for the Gunners .

Boxing Day was the  striker's first league start of the campaign  and the 30 year old Frenchman came up with the goods scoring  a late winner against West Brom recording his fourth league goal in just his 11th Premier League appearance of the campaign ending Arsenal's 'mini slump'.

Speaking at a news conference after the Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium, Wenger says he understands that Giroud may be frustrated with his lack of starts for Arsenal but the two enjoy an honest relationship.
