Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan received a special welcome in the Parliament of Zanzibar following his recent visit to the island nation.

Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars, traveled to the Eastern African country as part of collaborative efforts to support youth and sports development across the continent.

During his visit, Gyan engaged with Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi and members of his cabinet, discussing various initiatives aimed at promoting sports in the country.

In a notable moment, Gyan was honored in the Parliament of Zanzibar, where the Speaker and members of the August House applauded his contributions to football and sports in Africa.

The 38-year-old retired from professional football in 2023 after a distinguished career, solidifying his place in African football history.

Gyan remains celebrated across the continent for his achievements, notably holding the record for the most goals scored by an African player in World Cup history.

Back in Ghana, Gyan continues his commitment to sports development by organizing the All Regional Games, an Athletics Championship aimed at discovering and nurturing new talents in the country.
