Former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan has joined the debate about which of these trivela passes was better that of Kwadwo Asamoah to him in the 2014 World Cup against Portugal or Luka Modric to Rodrygo against Chelsea.

On Tuesday during the UEFA Champions League second leg clash between Chelsea and Real Madrid, with the blues leading 3-0, Luka Modric gave a trivela pass with the outside of his foot which was tucked home by  Rodrygo to send the match into extra time.

The Spanish giants went ahead to win the match 5-4 aggregate with a header from Karim Benzema in the first half of extra time.

After the match a lot of football enthusiast have been purring over Modric's pass that changed the complexion of the game entirely.

Luka Modric has become a grand master of the trivela passes using it very of ten as is becoming a symbol of that pass.

But former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan although has applauded Modric but believes Kwadwo Asamoah's trivela pass to him against Portugal at the 2014 World Cup to score the equalizer was better than that of Modric.

According to Gyan, Kwadwo’s cross was in a difficult position than the Madrid number 10.

He said, “If Modric had used the outside foot to cross from the right side of the pitch then you can compare to [Asamoah] Kwadwo’s cross. So all I will is is Kwadwo’s cross was very difficult. Modric’s cross was easy because he used the outside right foot on the left side of the pitch.
