Ghana were on the brink of elimination from the Afcon U-23 tournament currently underway in Egypt having picked up just a point in their first two games.

The Black Meteors drew their opening game against Cameroon and lost painfully to Egypt taking the lead twice in the game.

Going into the third and final match all hope was lost as Cameroon had a better point accumulation and goal difference than Ghana and needed just a draw to progress alongside host nation Egypt whom they were playing against.

Ghana got the all important win against Mali kind courtesy two second half goals from striker Kwabena Owusu who by his high standard has had a stinker so far in the tournament.

With Egypt doing Ghana a 'small' favour by winning two one against Cameroon to see the Black Meteors progress.

After the match the team broke into absolute ecstasy amid wild celebrations as they were on the brink of packing bag and baggage back home.
