Ghana's Black Meteors are on the brink of elimination at the on going Caf U-23 Afcon that is currently underway in Egypt.

The Black Meteors took on host nation Egypt in a thrilling encounter that saw a flurry of goals in the game with Ghana squandering the lead twice to lose 3-2.

Yaw Yeboah captain of the side converted beautiful from a cut back from the left flank to give the Stars the lead but could hardly hold on.

Ghana;s lead could only last for 11 minutes  as Egypt equalised through striker Moustafa who headed home Ahmed Mohamed's cross.

The Meteors once again took the lead just, a minute into the second half, when Real Oviedo striker Samuel Obeng  capitalised on a weak back pass from Egypt centre-back Mohamed Abdelsalam to round the goalkeeper and put the ball into an empty net.

Tormentor in chief Ramadan Sobhi's header in the 55th minute was ruled out for offside but it didn't take long for the Egyptians to pull parity when former Stoke City flop Sobhi again slotted home after a howler by Asante Kotoko reserve keeper Kwame Baah

The host continued to pile on the pressure and they deservedly fetched a deserved winner through Rayyan who rose high to head home from a Sobhi corner in the 88th minute.

Ghana will play their last match against Mali and have the slimmest of chance of progress after Cameroon defeated whipping boys Mali in the other group game.

The first three teams automatically qualify for the Olympic games in Tokyo 2020.

Ghana last played at the Men's Olympic football tourney in Greece Athens in 2004.
