Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has called for support for the betPawa Premier League amidst the low attendance at various games.
Hughton has been acquainting himself with the domestic game as he watched matches involving Great Olympics vs Berekum Chelsea, Kotoko vs King Faisal, RTU vs Nsoatreman among several others.
“I urge everybody to follow the betPawa Premier League and watch as many matches as possible as I will do,” Chris Hughton said.
Attendance at various league venues across the country has been abysmal with clubs playing matches in almost empty stadiums.
Most clubs in the local league derive the bulk of their revenue from gate proceeds which they make during matches but attendance has been abysmal.
Kotoko and Hearts who normally draw a lot of crowd during their matches have not been spared as they are struggling for numbers during matches.
Many have blamed it on the proliferation of foreign leagues, poor pitches in the GPL, infrastructure, and bad officiating among others.
