A journalist with Sunyani based Storm FM has won the hearts of many after preventing the police from seizing his phone while on duty at New Domaa, a suburb of Sunyani in the Bono region capital.

In a video shared on his Timeline and sighted by Ghanaguardian.com, the morning show host, Awudu Idrisu, popularly known as Mighty Judah is seen 'fighting' about four police officers and preventing them from seizing his phone.

It would be recalled that some irate youth in New Domaa on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, blocked the road in front of the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital with logs, concrete blocks and burnt tyres to prevent motorists from Techiman, Wenchi, Kintampo from entering the central business district and vice versa.

The knockdown of a pedestrian named Karim, sparked the protests as they claimed the regional minister and the Bono Regional Coordinating Council had failed to construct the road which has caused many accidents and deaths.

About fifty-one demonstrators were arrested. The rest took to their heels amidst shooting, as unconfirmed reports said three persons were shot in the melee.

However, the policemen after realising the journalist was taking a record of what was going on, hurriedly rushed him and attempted seizing his phone but the fearless and spirited journalist insisted the officer does not have the right to take his phone since according to him, “what have I done wrong in carrying my normal duties?”.

“Hey, my friend, stop what you are doing..stop it”, one of the officers commanded from afar.

“Stop what? I'm a pressman, I'm recording what is going on”, Mighty replied him.
