Ghana's ambassador to Egypt H.E Winfred Nii Okai Hammond feted the Black Meteors team who are in the semifinals of the Afcon U-23 tournament in Egypt.

After the teams Sunday’s training session, Ghana’s ambassador to Egypt  hosted the Black Meteors team at his residence

"Please go all out and die a little more to cross that line for yourself and for mother Ghana"he urged them.

The Black Meteors of Ghana will play  Ivory Coast in the semi-finals of the ongoing Caf U-23 tournament.

Ghana came second on a dramatic last day of matches played in Group A that saw the Black Meteors sneaking into the semi-finals having won a game drawing one and losing the other.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko's side piped Cameroon to the semi-final slot on goal difference after Egypt defeated them.

Ghana will play the Ivorian side on Tuesday 19th November 2019 to try and book a place at the Olympic games in Tokyo 2022.

Ivory Coast topped a group containing South Africa who came second, Nigeria and Zambia.

The other semi-final game will see host nation Egypt play against South Africa for a place in the Finals .

Its been 15 years since Ghana qualified for the quadrennial tournament that was in Athens 2004 but now just a win separates Ghana from the Olympic dream in Tokyo.
