VIDEO: I was not the only drunkard at Kotoko - Justice Blay cries

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has hit back strongly at claims that he was an indisciplined player and a drunkard during his second spell at the club, insisting that he was unfairly singled out.
Speaking in an explosive interview on Kumasi-based Pure FM, Blay stated that he was not the only player at Kotoko involved in off-field habits such as drinking and smoking, which have been widely used to explain his underwhelming return to the club.
“People have been misinformed that I’m the only drunkard in the club, but that’s not true,” he said.
“Some of the players also smoked shisha regularly.”
He went further to name teammates Joseph Ablorh and Camara Mohammed as players who, according to him, also engaged in similar behaviours during their time at the club.
Blay rejoined Kotoko in 2022 after a successful earlier stint that had made him a fan favourite. However, his return was plagued by injuries, inconsistency, and limited playing time.
He managed only 12 league appearances in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, without scoring a goal.
His latest revelations have sparked a storm of reaction among fans, with many now questioning the club’s internal disciplinary structure and how player conduct was managed by the coaching staff and management.
- Some supporters have called on the Kotoko hierarchy to respond to the allegations and clarify the disciplinary regime in place during the players' tenure.
- Others are expressing disappointment that such issues may have contributed to the club’s underwhelming performance in recent seasons.
As of now, neither Camara Mohammed nor Joseph Ablorh has responded publicly to Blay’s allegations.
