Ghana's Dancehall king, Shatta Wale, finally launched his much-anticipated 'The Reign' album at the Fantasy Dome in Accra on Saturday.

In what has been described by many on social media as a successful event, Shatta Wale filled the venue and thrilled patrons with back-to-back hits.

The four-hour event saw Shatta Wale perform some of his old and new tracks to the fans who had thronged the venue to support him.

One of the most talked-about fallouts from the launch concert on Saturday was the auctioning of the first copy of the album which went for a whopping GHC150,000.

Shatta Wale had actually requested for a GHC100,000 for the first copy.

But to the surprise of many, one man identified as Sledge and his wife came on stage to offer GHC150,000, saying Shatta Wale deserved more.

Shatta Wale himself looked overwhelmed as he knelt down for Sledge even before he could make his offer of GHC50,000.

So who is this businessman who showed so much love to Shatta Wale?

Sledge Nana Yaw Duodu, a businessman with interests in gold trading and real estate.

A holder of a degree in marketing from the UK, Sledge is also the chief executive officer of Silver City Real Estate, which is building an estate in the Community 18 area in Tema.

Apart from his own businesses, he sits on boards of several companies, Sakthi Trading Group and Shanti Corporate Holdings Ltd, which are international gold dealing companies.

In 2017, Sledge started a partnership with the Tema Metropolitan Assembly to solve the perennial flooding in the city.

With such a profile, there is no doubt that he has the wherewithal to make such an offer.
