Referee Maxwell Hanson has been given the beatings of his life at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday in a match involving home side BA United and RTU.

Going into the match there was so much at stake for Real Tamale United as they are pushing for their first Premier League appearance in 8 years.

RTU sit at the top of the table with 53 points – one point ahead of Boafoakwa Tano and 19 points richer than B.A United who have amassed 34 points and sit in 9th place in the League table.

According to the livid home fans there were denied three penalty kicks before RTU were awarded one later on and so run onto the field and chased out the referee before mercilessly beating him.
