Former Ghana coach Chris Hughton has been captured in a video circulating online bidding goodbye to the members of his squad and staff of the Black Stars team.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced on Tuesday night that it has parted ways with Irishman Chris Hughton as the coach of the senior men's national team the Black Stars with immediate effect.
Houghton presided over another disastrous spell at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) where Ghana crashed out at the group stage for the second successive spell.
Ghana failed to win a single game as they lost its opening game against Islanders Cape Verde before throwing away two goal leads against Egypt and Mozambique in their last game.
Hughton took charge of his first game in March despite being named Ghana coach on February 12, 2023, and managed a total of 13 games during his 12-month tenure.
The win-loss-draw ratio under his coaching tenure stood at 30.77%, 30.77%, and 38.46%, respectively in all competitions.
His team managed to score only 13 goals averaging a goal per match while conceding 16 times.
