Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has broken his silence following his release from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The artiste was detained on Wednesday, August 20, as part of investigations into alleged financial irregularities connected to his yellow Lamborghini Urus, which was seized earlier this month during an international probe into suspected fraud.
He was granted bail on Thursday evening after his lawyer, Cephas Boyuo, confirmed that the initial bail sum of GH₵10 million was reduced to GH₵5 million, with two sureties.
As part of the bail conditions, Shatta Wale is required to report to EOCO three times a week.
In a TikTok live session, the award-winning musician appeared calm and composed, expressing gratitude to his management team, legal counsel, and fans for their steadfast support during his detention.
He also extended appreciation to EOCO staff and Acting Executive Director Raymond Archer, commending them for their professionalism and the respect shown to him throughout the process.
“I thank everyone who stood by me. EOCO treated me with respect and I appreciate how the due process was followed,” Shatta Wale said.
This marks his first official public reaction since the widely publicised detention, which has drawn significant public and media attention.
