Son of legendary Ghana midfielder, Rodney Appiah made his debut for Accra Great Olympics on Sunday in their match day 22 Ghana Premier League clash with Liberty Professionals.

The young Appiah joined Great Olympics during the second transfer window from KingStep FC a lower tier side after excelling on trials but had to wait for his debut till Sunday.

He was introduced into the game as a second half substitute as Great Olympics secured a 2-0 victory against Liberty Professionals with goals from Maxwell Abbey Quaye and Joshua Rhule.

The youngster who has in the past said wants to surpass the achievements of his father has just began his footballing journey.

He took to his social media handle to express his delight after making his Great Olympics debut.

“Today is a milestone in my football career as I played my first game for my club Accra Great Olympics. Looking forward to an exciting time ahead”.

His father Stephen Appiah was at the stadium was in the stands to watch his son as he made his debut on Sunday.
