Team Ghana booked a place at the finals of the Men's 4x100 relay race at the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Eugene, Oregon, United States.

The Ghanaian quartet of Sean Safo-Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Emmanuel Oduro-Manu, and Joseph Paul Amoah run their personal best time of 38.58s, which gave them an automatic qualifying spot in the men’s 4x100m final.

Ghana finished third in heat 1 of the heat behind the United Kingdom and Unites States and narrowly overcame the efforts of Japan to finish third and secure an automatic place at the finals.

Despite the disappointing performances in the individual competitions, Ghana who have in recent times faltered in the 4x100 relay run the race of their lives on Friday.

The quartet of Sean Safo-Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Emmanuel Oduro-Manu, and Joseph Paul Amoah will be hoping for a place on the podium on Saturday in the finals where they will compete in lane 8.

Ghana is yet to win a single medal at the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Oregon, USA.
