Baba Yahaya emerged as the hero for Asante Kotoko, coming off the bench to score a last-minute goal and salvage a 1-1 draw against Karela United at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
Asante Kotoko had been struggling in the league, with two previous draws and a loss in their last three games.
Karela United, on the other hand, stunned the home crowd by taking an early lead in the 9th minute through Evans Adomako, who outpaced Asante Kotoko defender Henry Ansu before slotting the ball into the net.
The first half ended with Karela United holding their lead, but Asante Kotoko continued to apply pressure in search of an equalizer.
In the dying moments of the game, Baba Yahaya stepped up and scored, earning his team a crucial point and ending their winless streak of six matches.
The draw places Asante Kotoko in 17th place with 2 points from two draws and one defeat in their first three games of the season. Karela United will face Great Olympics in Accra on Matchday 4, while Asante Kotoko takes on Accra Lions next Friday.
