Accra Hearts of Oak made it three consecutive losses in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday as city neighbours Great Olympics humiliated the dethroned league champions by 3-0.
It is the first time that Accra Great Olympics have done a Ghana Premier League double on the phobians since the Premier League era.
The phobians started on the front foot as they probed for the opener with veteran midfielder finding youngster Suraj Seidu with a through pass but his effort was cleared by the Olympics defense.
Great Olympics found the opening goal in the 20th minute as Amos Acheampong struck home a long ball to give his side the advantage.
The wonder club added the second goal in the 33rd minute after Razak Yussif headed home from close range for his second goal against Hearts of Oak this season.
Right after conceding the second goal, the Hearts of Oak bench made three changes with Benjamin Yorke, Caleb Amankwaah and Gladson Awako all replaced by James Sewornu, Patrick Razak and Enoch Asubonteng.
Hearts should have reduced the deficit as they fought with some renewed energy but substitute Enoch Asubonteng tamely shot at Stephen Kwaku in post for Olympics.
The phobians threw the kitchen sink at their neighbours as they searched for the elusive goal but Great Olympics back line were resolute.
Razak Yussif took advantage of a Great Olympics break to double his tally and score his sides third goal of the game in he 81st minute.
Hearts of Oak despite fighting were handed a resounding 3-0 defeat and league double for Great Olympics this season.
